Where are today’s markets going? 

 

Dow futures are UP +0.08% and NASDAQ futures are UP 0.16%

 

U.S. stock index futures indicated a narrowly higher open on Friday morning as traders eyed a revision of first-quarter GDP (gross domestic product) as well as consumer sentiment ahead of the Memorial Day long weekend.

European stocks were lower as investors looked ahead to comments from U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen.

Asian markets ended mostly higher on the final trading day of the week as traders’ awaited direction from U.S. Fed.

Data docket: A second reading of GDP is set to come out at 8:30 a.m. ET, while consumer sentiment will be released at 10:00 a.m. The Treasury cash market closes at 2 p.m. ET.

  • The Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) closed up Thursday +0.01% and is FLAT in Friday’s pre-market;
  • The iShares Russell 2000 (IWM) closed Thursday down -0.11% and is UP +0.22% in Friday’s pre-market.
