News: Roche (RHHBY) to complete its $4.3 billion takeover of Spark Therapeutics (ONCE) after U.S. and British authorities ruled the deal would not hurt competition in hemophilia A treatment – finally. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Britain's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) approved the deal without demanding asset sales.

Don’t get too comfortable; unfortunately share pricing strength is a short-term enemy.  Momentum with increased volume will encroach on share pricing’s upside; if you were a subscriber … you would understand why!

Dow futures are UP +0.08% (-22 points), S&P futures are UP +0.13% (+4 points) and NASDAQ futures are UP +0.17% (+14 points)


U.S. stock index futures are strengthening to a positive open lower this Tuesday morning ;

European stocks retreat after record rally; UK’s Johnson revamps “hard” exit in  Brexit threat;

Asia Pacific stocks were up as Mainland Chinese shares led markets; sentiment continues to be buoyed by a recent phase one trade deal reached between Beijing and Washington;


Data Docket: housing starts and building permits for November, and a business leaders survey for December will all be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Industrial production figures for November will be released at 9:15 a.m. ET, and the latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) is set to follow shortly thereafter.



Market focus is largely attuned to global trade developments; the “deal” which is not yet signed, is set to be confirmed in the first week of January

Hopefully, there will be a lessening blow to “our” universe’s share price – the “machines” are preparing to upend the rise of share pricing – be ready.

Monday night’s post’s title:  “the oversold’s ground moved upward. The downside trippers (13) were percentage (%) lean and volume weak while the elevated upside’s (25) percentage (%) and volume increased. Shaking the December tree, 5 negative and 6 positive closes … so far.”

  • The NASDAQ closed UP +79.35 points (+0.91%)
  • The IBB closed up +1.04% while the XBI closed up +1.18%;
  • The range of the 25 upside was +0.57% (MDXG) to +13.66% (BLCM) while the 13 downside ranged from -0.08% (BOLD) to -3.94% (SAGE); 
  • 14 out of the 25 upside had higher than the 3 month average volume;
  • 9 out of the 13 downside had higher than the 3 month average volume;
