Dow futures are DOWN -00.48% or (-165 points), S&P futures are DOWN -0.49% or (-21 points) and NASDAQ futures are DOIWN -0.49% or (-74 points) early in the pre-open – so far

Stock futures fell Thursday,

European stock markets were lower,

Asia-Pacific markets saw sharp losses after minutes from the U.S. Federal Reserve revealed that the central bank was split on its decision to pause its rate hikes in June and sees more hikes ahead at a slower pace.

The shortened trading week resumed Wednesday after a short session Tuesday and Wednesday’s July 4th holiday. The major indexes logged modest losses.

The Dow closed DOWN -129.83 points (-0.38%), the S&P closed DOWN -6.77 points (-0.20%) while the Nasdaq closed DOWN -25.12 points (-0.18%

Economic Data Docket: ADP private payrolls data for June and initial jobless claims; S&P Global services PMI and ISM services PMI are also to be released

he BOTTOM LINE:

I follow the dictum, quoting Churchill that “short words are best, and the old words when short are best of all, as I try to keep it simple and short!

WHO is a work this week, I’m half in watching - periodically. No rain after the past few days … catch some rays as I move more loam and mulch.

It’s supposed to be vacation week!
