Not always the direction of the market’s “wind” that determines which way the sector will go

Meeting earnings expectation and/or missing consensus will deem share pricing outcomes this week. Earnings this week: 7/29, Tuesday = uniQure NV (QURE), 7/30, Wednesday = MiMedx (MDXG), 7/31, Thursday = Alnylam Pharmaceuticals (ALNY), Vericel (VCERL), 8/1 = Ionis Pharmaceuticals (IONS) and Moderna (MRNA)

News: FDA partially lifts hold on Sarepta Therapeutics’ (SRPT) Duchenne gene therapy after community outcry … partially reversed course on its push to halt shipments of the controversial therapy

Pre-open Signals: 5 Negative, 1 Sellinto Strength and many Neutral Indications

Never leave an investor uninformed … I try to rationalize the whys of inclines or declines in share pricing as lately it seems no news is good news

I say what others won’t, so you can do what others can’t!

Remember that overnight and pre-open actions’ futures and markets doesn’t necessarily translate into actual trading in today’s market session.

Let’s get to the point, few adverbs and even fewer adjectives, no vacillating; I get right to the point, telling investors what has meaning and why news or indications matter.

Companies in my headlights – It’s your decision; I provide ideas and context

I post about “indication intelligence” looking toward investment conferences … to assist investors with insight into sector vulnerabilities and strengths.  A dictionary definition of “indicate” refers to something less than a certainty; an indication could be a signal of being oversold or overbought, a recommendation, or grounds for inferring or a basis for believing.

  • I’ll pass; …. an escape in the making of upcoming earnings week, ups, downs and just plain uncertainty

Although:

Cellectis SA (CLLS) closed up +$0.33 after Friday’s +$0.52 with a negative -$0.06 or -2.1053% pre-open

Vericel (VCEL closed up +$1.33 with a positive +$0.22 or +0.53% aftermarket – Sell into Strength

Solid Biosciences (SLDB) closed up +$0.02 after Friday’s +$0.32 with a negative -$0.12 or -1.71% pre-open

The BOTTOM LINE: US stock futures traded flat as Wall Street prepared for fresh earnings and economic data amid a blockbuster week poised to shake markets.

I … STILL …feel RED flags are flying and the firing range is open!

July is slowly coming to an end with 3 (including today) sessions left.

  • After econs stifled the sector and markets, and summer doldrums, tariff conflicts, vacations and selling before the earnings cycle to pay for the lobster rolls.

Earnings remainers, post this week: 8/4 - Monday Cellectis SA (CLLS) and 8/5, Tuesday = AxoGen (AXGN)

“I also hate to be so negative or contrarian but, this is a NO spin zone and truth is its product; I can always be WRONG but, I am mostly EARLY!”

To characterize July, to understand the “flow” of markets, the cell and gene therapy sector and economic karma…

  • 7/28 - Monday closed negative with 14 positive, 16 negative and 5 flats

Last week:

  • 7/25 – Friday closed positive with 17 positive, 14 negative and 4 flats
  • 7/24 – Thursday closed negative with 7 positive, 25 negative and 3 flats

  • 7/15 - Tuesday closed negative with 3 positive, 29 negative and 3 flats
  • 7/14 - Monday closed positive with 20 positive, 11 negative and 4 flats

Reiterating, “There are always some big ifs, especially given some of the headlines that could emanate after a past few months of news flatulence.

  • Some believe in a “June Swoon;” however, July has been better than the previous months. Although, I consider the so-called summer rally after the peripatetic or wandering.”

As always, I brace myself for earnings associated with share pricing volatility, some economics and tariff developments and their effects?

Welcome to my world of defining the “grey’ in our universe!
