That is, the Advance/Decline (A/D) line after 4 successive positive closes

Why the market and sector been experiencing the ups lately, so far in August? It was the sectors grappling with being oversold, not the usual missed earnings beat and consensus scores but advancing quantifiable trials

What's more interesting is a few M&A’s, some solid runways and a few follow-on offerings and in multiple cases positive clinical guidance despite all the whispering about the FDA, drug tariffs and the FED, notwithstanding the potential of “uncle algo and his electronic dwarfs” now gathering for profit taking

Remember that overnight and pre-open actions’ futures and markets doesn’t necessarily translate into actual trading in today’s market session.

There are buying opportunities and sell signals, but many names are likely to reverse direction after the open …

I post about “indication intelligence” looking toward investment conferences … to assist investors with insight into sector vulnerabilities and strengths.  A dictionary definition of “indicate” refers to something less than a certainty; an indication could be a signal of being oversold or overbought, a recommendation, or grounds for inferring or a basis for believing.

The BOTTOM LINE: Market ups, econs … the causes and effect …

After rate fears of a suspect or even a measly Fed rate cut, markets ended the week largely unfazed by hotter wholesale inflation print.

  • The fresh data now puts the Fed, which targets 2% inflation, in a precarious position as tensions between its dual mandate of price stability and maximum employment begin to surface.

Massive downward revisions in July's jobs report last week fueled concerns that the labor market is softening too quickly, strengthening the case for rate cuts. But the hotter-than-anticipated inflation data could suggest the need for more restraint.

  • As of Friday afternoon, markets continued to price in about an 85% probability that the central bank will cut rates in September, according to the latest CME FedWatch Tool. Fed Chair Powell's Jackson Hole speech this week could give hints on the Fed's next policy move??

I also hate to be so negative or contrarian but, this is a NO spin zone and truth is its product; I can always be WRONG but, I am mostly EARLY!”

Reiterating, “There are always some big ifs, especially given some of the headlines that could emanate after a past few months of news flatulence.

  • As always, I brace myself for earnings associated with share pricing volatility, some economics and tariff developments and their effects?
