Econs, econs; what do I see – no guarantees!
News: Alnylam Pharmaceuticals (ALNY pre-open +$3.97) commenced a private offering of $500 M aggregate principal amount of convertible senior notes due 2028. In connection with this offering, ALNY expects to grant the initial purchasers of the notes an option to purchase up to an additional $75 M aggregate principal amount of the notes. Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. (RARE pre-open $0.00) positive longer-term results from its P3 study of DTX401 AAV gene therapy for the treatment of glycogen storage disease type Ia (GSDIa); which is a rare, serious, and life-threatening disease due to an inborn error of carbohydrate metabolism and to then allow the treated liver cells to respond to normal hormonal signals intended to manage glucose, including insulin and cortisol.
Never leave an investor uninformed … I say what others won’t, so you can do what others can’t!
The cell and gene therapy sector has seen a few too many fits and starts, so …
US stock futures were rising as investors waited for a revision to jobs numbers, seen as” likely to show further labor-market weakness that could reset expectations for interest-rate cuts.
Remember that overnight and pre-open actions’ futures and markets doesn’t necessarily translate into actual trading in today’s market session.

Companies in my headlights – It’s your decision; I provide ideas and context
I post about “indication intelligence” looking toward investment conferences … to assist investors with insight into sector vulnerabilities and strengths. A dictionary definition of “indicate” refers to something less than a certainty; an indication could be a signal of being oversold or overbought, a recommendation, or grounds for inferring or a basis for believing.
- Let ‘em ride, I see a “muddy” econ laden week – as Tuesday evolves; yet, some green after the red after green as September advances, along with the usual ups, downs and just plain uncertainties
The BOTTOM LINE: Econs matter in “this” market scenario; brace for inflation data this week with cracks in “our” universe … we are so dependent on econ “numbers” to our universe’s share pricing …
“Lousy” jobs numbers from August have likely forced the Fed to step in.
- But despite the near certainty that a cut is near/coming, the Fed — or the potential of the Fed's future action — still has the power to electrify the market as the focus now moves to whether we'll see a jumbo 50 basis point rate cut or the standard 25.
- How many cuts we see and how fast they come has rapidly stepped in to replace the "will they, won't they" debate.
- Ahead of two inflation reports due later this week, which aren't expected to show much progress on combating pricing pressures, the Nasdaq (^IXIC) and the S&P 500 (^GSPC) were at or near all-time highs. <Yahoo Finance>
September is historically the worst month for equities …
- Are tariffs more of an issue to the future, hope the Supreme Courts levels over-reaching state/federal courts?
- Don’t forget about Fed governor Lisa Cook and her “mortgage fraud criminal referral to DOJ>issues of being fired or not?

I also hate to be so negative or contrarian but, this is a NO spin zone and truth is its product; I can always be WRONG but, I am mostly EARLY!”
