Data blackout removes a factor that could lend pressure to stocks

Markets have so far been unperturbed by the government shutdown, which looks set to drag on; although 7 positive sector closes of the last 9 sessions could set a trap for “some” profiteering

Pre-open Signals: 5 Positive Indications

Never leave an investor uninformed … I say what others won’t, so you can do what others can’t!

TGIF

As a quantamental “plotter” I equate myself to a quantitative analyst straddling fundamental stock picking to produce better results for investors. the term “quantamental,” blends styles setting forth my difference re: retail, trading and multiple investor categories

Remember that overnight and pre-open actions’ futures and markets doesn’t necessarily translate into actual trading in today’s market session.

Companies in my headlights – It’s your decision; I provide ideas and context

I post about “indication intelligence” looking toward investment conferences … to assist investors with insight into sector vulnerabilities and strengths.  A dictionary definition of “indicate” refers to something less than a certainty; an indication could be a signal of being oversold or overbought, a recommendation, or grounds for inferring or a basis for believing.

  • October begins with a government shutdown and fewer econs… along with the usual ups, downs and just plain uncertainties

Some indications in MY view:

CRISPR Therapeutics (CRSP +$6.66 after Wednesday’s +$1.35, Tuesday’s +$1.04 and Monday’s +$2.10 with a positive +$0.58 or +0.80% pre-open

Beam Therapeutics (BEAM) closed up +$1.46 after Wednesday’s -$0.14 with a positive +$0.31 or +1.21% pre-open

BioNTech (BNTX +$2.30 after Wednesday’s +$3.59 and Tuesday’s +$0.52 with a positive +$0.04 or +0.04% pre-open

Ionis Pharmaceuticals (IONS) closed up +$2.60 with a positive +$0.30 or +0.44% pre-open

Ultragenyx Pharmaceuticals (RARE +$0.91 after Wednesday’s -$0.09, Tuesday’s -$0.28 and Monday’s +$1.28 with a positive +$0.04 or +0.16%

The BOTTOM LINE: I can’t seem to let go of this quote, “It’s always darkest before the pitch dark”

  • The cell and gene therapy sector ended seeing a few too many fits and starts, so …

Reiterating, “What to Do Now: The stock market rally continues to do well, but … with the major indexes all near record highs … “uncle algo and his electronic trading dwarfs” are smelling some profits!”

Welcome to my world of defining the “grey’ in our universe!

  • I am more frequently right than consequentially wrong; if I wanted to be liked, I wouldn’t have been an analyst/journalist.
