Sell into an UP sector, after 3 positive sector closes; AVOID having to sell in a down market

A holiday shortened week, US stock markets will shut early on Wednesday for the Christmas Eve start of holidays, and will be closed all of Thursday for Christmas Day

Didn’t forget econs ... Gross domestic product (GDP) increased at a ‌4.3% annualized rate last quarter, in its initial estimate of Q3 GDP. The economy grew at a 3.8% pace in Q2. Economists had forecast GDP would rise at a 3.3% pace. Consumer spending increased at a 3.5% rate Q3 after advancing at a 2.5% pace in Q2.

As I have written; “It’s been a good clue to be reducing “some” exposures, exiting some also-rans or questionable data delays”

Never leave retail investor uninformed … I say what others won’t, so you can do what others can’t!

Think of “our” universe as a game of shuts and ladders or sometimes monopoly … and follow RMi’s “interchanges” to gain profit moves or recoup losses –  ponder ANY move before you act!

Companies in my headlights – It’s your decision; I provide ideas and context

I post about “indication intelligence” looking toward investment conferences … to assist investors with insight into sector vulnerabilities and strengths.  A dictionary definition of “indicate” refers to something less than a certainty; an indication could be a signal of being oversold or overbought, a recommendation, or grounds for inferring or a basis for believing.

  • Not today, let the sector and market do their best or not?

The BOTTOM LINE: A volatile streak

Investors are hoping for continued momentum, as they gauge the prospects for a Santa Claus rally??

  • Stocks are entering the final stretch of 2025 trading within striking distance their record highs, after a surprise drop in inflation and lukewarm labor market data left betting on possible 2026 interest-rate cuts

All 3 major indexes will enter the final 7 trading sessions of 2025 within 3% of their record highs.

  • In the week ahead, those investors still around during the holidays will turn their attention to the prospects of a “Santa Claus rally,” while a few pieces of economic data out on Tuesday will clean up some of the lagging data delayed as a result of the government shutdown.
  • Tuesday morning’s read on consumer confidence from the Conference Board should be the key focus, with one of 2025’s defining narratives centering on the K-shaped economy that has emerged among American shoppers.

Markets in the US will be open for half a day on Wednesday and closed on Thursday for Christmas. Many international markets will remain closed on Friday as well. <Yahoo Finance>

Welcome to my world of defining the “grey’ in our universe!

  • I am more frequently right than consequentially wrong; if I wanted to be liked, I wouldn’t have been an analyst/journalist.
