Lower open expected

Dow futures are DOWN -0.09% and NASDAQ futures are DOWN -0.07%

 

 

U.S. stock index futures pointed to a lower open on Monday, as investors turned their attention to how the oil market was performing after Hurricane Harvey wreaked havoc in the U.S. over the weekend.

European markets were lower as the euro hit a two-and-a-half year high and investors kept a close eye on the moves in oil.

Asian indexes came under pressure after the euro soared following Friday speeches from top central bankers. Oil markets, meanwhile, digested the impact of Hurricane Harvey.
