At the end of the session, traders closed, rolled out and offset their expiring positions
The stem, cell, gene and regenerative therapy (SCG&RT) sector opened positive, was barely positive at the mid-day and closed negative.
Pre-open indication’s tally: 2 hits (BSTG and VCEL) and 4 miss (BCLI, KITE, SGMO and XON)
There are two things that investors need - interpretation of news and translation of market metrics concerning the stem, cell, gene and regenerative therapy sector to substantiate share pricing.
I answer one question; in which company should investors put, keep and commit their money!
I say today what others won't, so you can do what others can't!
U.S. stocks closed slightly lower Friday, with financials lagging, following some renewed concern of geopolitical tension.
The NASDAQ closed DOWN -19.69 or -0.36% to 5,437.16 and the DOW closed DOWN -8.83or -0.04% to 19,843.41.
A day in the life of the stem, cell, gene and regenerative therapy (SCGT & RT) sector – the advance/decline line scenario of our 43 covered companies:
- The open was positive with an A/DL of 23/16 and 4 flats;
- The mid-day was barely positive with an A/DL of 21/19 and 3 flats;
- The closing bell dumped negative with A/DL of 14/26 and 3 flats;
Henry’omics:
The stem, cell, gene and regenerative therapy (SCG&RT) sector opened positive, stayed but, barely positive at the mid-day and closed negative.
- From this morning’s investor’s letter, “Triple witching Friday … these opportunities are the catalysts for heavy volume and many downdrafts going into the close on triple witching days, as traders attempt to profit on small price imbalances with large round-trip trades that may be completed in seconds.”
Option’s expiration made the session crash … as the SCG&RT sector gave up … opening gains to close negative, having opened with a positive with the Nasdaq the worst performer, down over a third of a percent and closed almost the direct opposite of the advance/decline lines.
The iShares Russell 2000 (IWM) indicated a positive pre- open of +0.33% and closed DOWN -0.18%; the iShares NASDAQ Biotechnology (IBB) indicate positive +0.76% in the pre-open and closed UP +0.18%.
